Sophie and her shots....

Sorry there are no pictures at this time, but I thought I would leave a post on my neglected blog...Sophie got her shots a couple of weeks ago and is doing very well! She weighed in at 13.25 pounds and is still growing! She was just getting used to seeing sun when we go on walks but then it snowed again, and again. more to come soon!

Sweet Beginnings

Welcome to the world little Sophia! Sophie came into this world on January 18th 2009, and life has been a whirlwind ever since! We are surely loving our little bundle of joy and couldn't be prouder of her!

Sophie always seems to have some sort of expression on her face. It is quite entertaining to see what she will come up with next. A favorite face of hers is the "grumpy old man" face. Many in the Forbis family liken this face to Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley. She is awake a little more often now and it is quite a delight to see those beautiful blue eyes sparkling back at you, she needs to be awake more often so we can see them!
Another favorite thing to do (besides making faces) is play with her fingers. Don't worry, she still has her habits from the womb...it seems to be most comfortable for her to sleep with her hand in a fist, well except for her ring finger anyway. She has also started to use her middle finger more often as well. When we were getting her ready for her bath one day, she put her middle finger in her mouth and started to suck on it. I am not sure if this was an action of comfort (like sucking on your thumb, but wrong finger) or if this was a sign of frustration! I like to think she is just a little misguided about what finger she wants to suck on. But then again it appears that we have so many "bad habits" already, where did they all come from? (has to be from Dad...)

That is a little recap of our little bundle of joy. She is changing everyday it seems! I can't believe how much she has grown in the three weeks that she has been here! She surely is our little miracle and are enjoying every moment (even the moments at 4 a.m.)(ok, well maybe those moments not so much, but I wouldn't trade it for the world)!

Our little girl

This is our little girl who had obviously had enough poking and prodding for the perfect picture! The whole ultrasound process seemed to be just trying to get her to cooperate, she was just too comfy I guess. Cam and I agree the most precious thing was seeing her yawn! Too cute!
The fellow running the ultrasound had one last thing to do: get a profile picture from her, but she just wouldn't move her hands away from her face! He tried to get her to move (Tiff was most surely feeling it by this time too...) and he jokingly said that she was going to flip us off. Well, no sooner had he said that, than our sweet little girl did give him a finger, and promptly rolled over so all we could see was her back (again) and we were done. Baby had had enough and certainly let us know!
